GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
CMT Engineering Inc. has carried out thousands of geotechnical investigations for a wide range of engineering projects, including residential and condominium development, commercial and industrial development, roadways, bridges, and landfills.
Geotechnical investigations are performed to determine subsurface information for design and construction of civil engineering projects. The investigations are carried out either by exploratory test pits or drilling boreholes.
Geotechnical engineering reports are provided, which include detailed stratigraphic descriptions on borehole logs, grain size analysis results, cross-sections and locations plans. Engineering recommendations are provided for foundation design, earthworks/structural filling parameters, dewatering considerations, pavement design, slope stability analysis, retaining wall design and helical pile design.
CMT Engineering Inc. offers permeability testing in unsaturated soils to determine in-situ infiltration and/or field saturated hydraulic conductivity rates. The in-situ permeability testing can be completed in a test pit or down boreholes up to depths of 30 feet. The down borehole method allows for rate determination deep below the ground surface without creating a large, accessible excavation.
Applications for this testing include determination of infiltration rates and overall feasibility of the infiltration of clean run off water for proposed infiltration galleries for residential, commercial and industrial developments. Other applications include compacted clay liner permeability verification and T-Time determinations.
CMT Engineering Inc. uses our subsidiary company, CMT Drilling Inc. for borehole investigations, so the investigations can be carried out in a more timely manner.
